  • What will it cost to talk to Phil about my car wreck?
Our consultations with Phil regarding your car wreck are completely free – no strings attached. There are no costs involved whatsoever. Feel free to reach out to us regarding any concerns. Even if it falls outside our area of expertise, we are committed to assisting you and will direct you to someone who can address your specific legal needs. At Votaw Law, our practice is defined by helping people and providing the support they deserve.
  • Should I trust my insurance company?
When it comes to trusting your insurance company, it's essential to recognize that their primary duty lies with their stockholders, and their goal is to generate profits. It's crucial to proceed with caution and understand that their interests may not always align with yours. At Votaw Law, we prioritize your best interests and will provide unbiased guidance to help you navigate insurance matters effectively.
  • If the insurance company is fair on my property damage will they be fair on my medical case?
In our experience, no. While the insurance company may be fair on property damage, valuing the personal impact of a car wreck is different. There's no fixed "book value" for pain, suffering, or the inability to perform daily tasks. That's where we come in – we try cases to juries to ensure you receive rightful compensation.
  • Why do people hire lawyers instead of doing their car wreck themselves?
People choose to hire lawyers like us for several reasons. Firstly, they want to ensure they aren't taken advantage of by powerful insurance companies with vast resources. Additionally, we offer a valuable service that saves them the hassle of gathering medical bills and records, dealing with insurance adjusters who aim to settle for the lowest amount possible. Handling these complexities is our expertise, and we excel at advocating for our clients and securing the compensation they truly deserve.
  • What do I do immediately after an accident?
    Answer coming soon!
  • Should I talk to the other insurance company?
    Answer coming soon!
  • What should I bring to my free attorney consultation?
Whatever you’ve got! But if at all possible, I would love to be able to review the police report if you have it, any photographs, any paperwork from any car insurance carrier, and any of your medical discharge paperwork. Nevertheless, it is certainly not required to bring anything with you to your consultation.
  • Do I really need to open a claim with my auto insurance?
    Answer coming soon!
  • What is my case worth?
Your case is worth what it’s worth – and that is usually not known until long after the accident. Many clients I’ve spoken to are under the impression that there is a specific formula for determining case value. There is only one “you” in the world, and as a result no other case is going to be comparable to yours. This is not an exhaustive list of all of the damages you might be entitled to as a result of a wreck, but you deserve to be paid for: the cost of your medical bills, your lost income, your transportation and lodging expenses associated with your medical treatment, and of course your pain suffering and mental anguish. I am happy to discuss your specific damages at your free consultation.
  • How much is hiring a lawyer going to cost me?
    Answer coming soon!
  • How long is this going to take?
As long as it takes. What does that mean? The length of any case is obviously going to depend on the nature of the accident and the extent of your injuries. However, as a general rule, unless a lawsuit is needed to get you what you deserve, or there is a complication in your medical treatment, I try to resolve all cases within 6 months of the date of the accident.
